Iowa Beer Buzz | Torrent BA Bottle Release, Rongorongo and Boing!

If you don't spend all of your loot on the Founders CBS release tomorrow, there's plenty of new in Iowa brew this week.

Richard the Whale bottles are ready for your grubby hands Saturday December 2nd. You can get tickets on Brown Paper Tickets for (2) 12 oz Richard the Whale, (1) 12 oz Richard the Whale w/coffee and one collector's glass.

The Ames brewery will host their first ever bottle release December 9th. Torrent will offer 22 oz bombers of their Russian Imperial Stout "Lawman" and a barrel-aged RIS called "Ridge Runner." $35 gets you one of each bomber and they only have 150 of each. You'll also get a 4 oz sample of each with your bottle purchase. Festivities start at 9am.

PR announced more details regarding the upcoming $ticker $hock release (December 16th). $$ will be offered only in 4-packs of 370ml bottles for $80 per. There's only 300 "packages" and the taproom opens at 8am, bottle sales begin at 9.

No, not a bottle release yet but the BT Twitter and Instagram page teased some red caps. Rumor says it won't be a brown beer in here but rather some juicy hops. Double the hops, maybe.

Back to the bourbon-y stuff. Lion Bridge announced their lineup for January's "Barrel Aged January." The list is in the tweet below.

A couple new juicy IPAs are making the rounds from both Lark and Fat Hill Brewing. Lark's Boing is a big ol' DIPA measuring in at 8.6% ABV chocked full of Mosiac, Citra and Loral hops. Fat Hill's Rongorongo is the Mason City brewery's take the NE IPA. It boasts four pounds of Mosiac, Denali and Idaho 7 hops. Here's the Rongorongo is all its beauty:

Did you know Carlisle, Iowa, had a brewery? I didn't either until last weekend. It's production only as of right now so you can't belly-up in a taproom yet. But, you can find several Backroad beers around Des Moines, Pella and Indianola. I'll try to get a taste and report back.

The West Des Moines brewery is taking the show on the road to Iowa City. TVB is invading something called the Mellow Mushroom December 7th bringing GRIPA, Black Knight IPA, Twisted Blonde and Old Crusty's Scottish Ale.

I'm out of words so I'll let the tweet do the talking.
