Wisconsin's Potosi Brewing Announces Expanded Iowa Distribution

Per press release, Wisconsin's Potosi Brewing announced expanded distribution into 18 Iowa counties including the Des Moines and Ames markets. Beers are already available for purchase at local Wine and Spirits in Urbandale, Iowa. They plan to make a splash into the Central Iowa beer scene with a handful of tap takeovers to give beer drinkers a chance to sample their portfolio.

  • El Bait Shop, Des Moines, IA – Nov 9, 4:30-7 PM
  • The Library, Des Moines, IA – Nov 9, 4:30-7 PM
  • Up/Down, Des Moines, IA – Nov 10, 5-8 PM
  • Mullets, Des Moines, IA – Nov 13, 4:30-7 PM

A quick check of Untappd and, like most breweries, the highest rated beers are all of the barrel-aged variety. The introductory drop at the Urbandale Hy-Vee shown above includes your standard flagship fare: an Amber Ale, IPA, Porter and Golden Ale. There's also a variety pack and tallboys of Espresso Stout (the highest rated of the bunch at 3.87 stars). Personally, I look to load up a mixer-sixer at my local Hy-Vee to give these a whirl in the near future.
