Beer Review | Barn Town Sticky Juice American IPA

I've been somewhat apprehensive about starting the beer reviews but then I realized, this is a beer blog. That's kinda what these things do. So buckle up.

ABV: 8%
HOPS: Triple Hopped with Citra and Mosiac

A frothy, white head, oh forget it, that's a terrible pour.
I'm using the brewer's Untappd entry style here. As you can see, by appearance this beer is NE Style IPA. The ABV is almost DIPA range but you'd never know because you never taste it. It's truly some sort of barn/farm magic.

This beer pours straight carbonated Minute Maid and smells up your room like a Pink Floyd tribute band is coming on stage. It's dank and juicy. It's juicy like it should come with an omelette and a side of crispy bacon. Not that thin cut bacon either. The thick stuff. Farmhouse bacon.

I was talking with friends about this mystical flavor sensation I occasionally get from the Citra hop. It's a magic signal sent to the brain that I've only experienced less than 20 times. I got it from Zombie Dust once. Also, from King Sue, Special Sauce and SHB:DDH Citra. You see, it's something where I recall the beer, time and place. I got that here. On Saturday January 20th, 2018 at approximately 11:33 am Central Standard Time, of course.

I wish I could share more about the malts and yeast. Whatever they are they should be used in every "American IPA." Okay, maybe not every as we do need some variety. It's the spice of life, you know.

I've written plenty of Barn Town in the short history of this blog. That's because it's practically in my backyard. I'll write plenty more as long as the beers are as good as Sticky Juice. This beer is in the clubhouse as Iowa's best in 2018. If it will remain there depends on what happens over the remaining 11 months. And, where it eventually ranks among the beers BT makes in just their second year of operation.

BOTTLE CAPS: 4.75 (out of 5)
