Beer Review | Iowa Brewing Company Hail Sagan India Pale Ale

IOWA BREWING COMPANY HAIL SAGAN
BEER: India Pale Ale
ABV: 7.5%
IBU: 57

Hail Sagan is the first 22 ounce bomber format beer from Iowa Brewing Company to arrive in Central Iowa. And what a nice first impression it is. It's a clean IPA with Galaxy, Ekuanot, Eureka and Columbus hops. It pours a very slightly hazy golden color and gives off a white medium head that will line the glass as you gulp.

They named this beer after astrophysicist Carl Sagan because as they say, "this beer is out of this world." Now, I don't pretend to know much about astrophysics or the Cosmos, but I do know about time travel. At least, what I learned about it in the movies.

First, you need a DeLorean and a flux capacitor. You can make one in your garage or basement shop. Whichever is most convenient. You also need some plutonium. That's the most important part. You can get that on Facebook marketplace.

If you had a time machine and take this beer back, say, just four years, you'd have a gold medal winner. It's a throw back to when fresh hoppy but balanced, filtered and clean, resinous IPAs were all the rage. They still are fantastic and this is proof that while haze is good, Hail Sagan is too.

OVERALL: 4.15 bottle caps (out of five)
