IBB IPAPA March Bracket Round 1 | #1 Barn Town Sticky Juice Vs. #16 Brightside Hopnotize

Here we have the #1 seed in the Central Iowa bracket versus a new up-and-coming Brewery in Altoona, Iowa. Barn Town is barely a year old (their anniversary party is this Saturday) and Brightside re-branded and reopened just in the Fall of 2017. Both breweries are bringing the haze.

#1 BARN TOWN STICKY JUICE NE STYLE IPA

How it got here: "Triple hopped" with Citra and Mosiac, this beer debuted in early 2018 and is a contender for IPA of the year. This beer packs a big 8% ABV but you never know it as it hides behind the exploding citrus hops. Barn Town's first batch sold out in four days at the brewery and various keg releases in Des Moines and Iowa City haven't lasted long either. Untappd users love this beauty at 4.5 bottle caps with almost 500 check-ins.

Available: Barn Town's second batch of Sticky Juice will release Saturday, March 3rd in 22 oz format.

#16 BRIGHTSIDE ALEWORKS HOPNOTIZE

How it got here: Brightside has sent some offerings out of their taproom to the Iowa Taproom but as far as availability, this one is limited. It's was released as part of their East vs. West IPA challenge representing the East and the New England style. It's a hazy beer loaded with Galaxy, El Dorado and Calypso hops that come in at a modest 35 IBUs. The ABV is a solid 6.5% making this a beer you'd easily go back for another. Untappd users have this beer at a collective 3.93 with just over 20 check-ins.

Available: Draft only at their taproom and maybe the Iowa Taproom.
