Madhouse Brewing Announces Carpe Diem Bottle Release Details

Madhouse Brewing, of Des Moines, is keeping the bottle release train rolling with their third release in three months. It started with V.I.P. (Vanilla Imperial Porter) at the end of 2017 and saw Freedom Toast hit bottles for the first time in January.

Carpe Diem is ready and will be available to the public at the taproom at 4:00 pm Friday, March 2nd. Each 750 ml bottle will cost $20 this year and there's a four bottle limit per person. Perhaps, their most popular beer, Madhouse does warn on their Facebook Event Page that this one may not see distribution depending on sales at the release. Freedom Toast did land at several accounts but in lesser supply (one case) that maybe people were used to seeing.

Carpe Diem is consistently one of the highest rated and most sought after beers Madhouse produces. The 2017 version has a robust 4.5 bottle caps with 800ish check-ins. It's made with oats, cacao nibs, Kona coffee and maple syrup all packed into a large format and bringing the heat at 13.5% ABV. It carries an overall 97 on Rate Beer and is considered "outstanding" with a 4.45/5 on Beer Advocate. Here at IBB, Carpe Diem ranked in as the 9th best Iowa-made Stout/Porter of 2017.

Bottle sharing is encouraged as in getting there early. Hitting the brewery just about 10 minutes before release time for Freedom Toast had this guy about 150th in line. I expect the Carpe Diem line to be longer, especially if they aren't promising distro to the rest of the state.
