IBB IPA/PA Round 1 Results and Updated Bracket for Round 2

Round 1 voting has closed as we have our winners moving on to the "Swell 16." 515 Brewing got out the vote and pulled off two upsets in he upper Central Iowa bracket. Both Passe (#9 seed) and OJ Gets Lei'd (#12 seed) will move on and face some tougher competition in Round 2. Barn Town's Sticky Juice and Toppling Goliath's Fire, Skulls and Money coasted to easy first round wins and will wait to square off with 515.

In the lower Central Iowa bracket, Iowa Brewing Company's Hail Sagan was the surprise winner over Big Grove's Buster. Toppling Goliath's Double Dry-Hopped Pseudo Sue waits. It's scratch at the bottom of the bracket as Barn Town's Double Hop Skewer and Big Grove's Easy Eddy will square off for a chance to move to the "Excellent Eight."

On the Eastern Iowa side of the bracket is the biggest upset of Round 1. ReUnion Brewing's Tank Puncher slugged Pulpit Rock's Stink juice right in the face and pulled off the almost impossible #16 upset over a #1 seed. Tank Puncher will take on Lion Bridge's Majestic Beast this week. Lark's Boing! will face off with Pulpit Rock's Saftig. Both easy winners in Round 1.

In the bottom of the Eastern Iowa side, Franklin Street cruised to victory and Drugstore Cowboy gets Toppling Goliath Decorah-made Pompeii in Round 2. Fat Hill's Rongorongo pulled off the #11 vs. #6 upset over Alluvial's Lutris and will face-off against Decorah-canned Pseudo Sue in Round 2.

Here's the full bracket:

Voting will open tomorrow. The posts will condense now from 16 last Monday to only 4 tomorrow with two match-ups in each post. Like last week too, I will post updates on Wednesday and Friday. Voting will again close Saturday, March 10th at noon central time.
