Iowa Brewers Guild's Iowa Craft Brew Festival Tickets Go On Sale April 27th

Tickets for the biggest Iowa brewery event of the year will go on sale April 27th (time TBD) online via Tikly.com. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 16th from 1-5pm in downtown Des Moines. The last two years' events have been held in front of The Iowa Taproom on E Third Street.

Like previous years, the first hour, 1-2 pm, is reserved for VIP ticket holders. VIP tickets will cost $40 per person and General Admission tickets run $30 apiece. Hours for the General Admission run 2-5pm.

The Brewer's Guild website boasts over 50 Iowa breweries will provide samples of their beer at the event. The state of Iowa now has over 70 breweries in production so that number of participating could be higher. As usual, expect a smattering of Mass Craft beers like Sam Adams, Ballast Point and Summit available too.

Last year's beer list saw some of Iowa's best-made beers like Carpe Diem from Madhouse, KBBS, Assassin and Mornin' Delight (VIP pours) from Toppling Goliath, $ticker $hock and Rechoncho from Pulpit Rock and Tatonka from Lark Brewing. There was also a chance to get a first taste from new breweries in 2017 like Barn Town, Fenders and Second State of Cedar Falls.

With a handful of new breweries opening in 2018 and in planning, this blogger hopes to sample beers from Thew, Ambient, Clock House, Carroll and Dimensional Brewing. I also hope to see Marto, of Sioux City, in a tent and not serving off to the side inside the Iowa Taproom.

As the fest approaches and the brewery list and their beer list is final, I'll have more on the event. Including a complete look at the beer list. The Craft Beer Festival is part of Des Moines' Craft Beer week and there's also events leading up to the Saturday beer buffet. Check back later for full coverage.
